The clock is ticking, only days left..

On Monday 25th September 2006 I asked YOU (if you are one of my 47276 subscribers) how I could help you. You told me you wanted to become ‘overnight’ list building champions and have your own super-profitable mailing list. The challenge had been set for me..

You want step-by-step advice..

You want step by step advice

You want to know how to start..

You want to know how to start

You want honest advice on what really works..

You want honest advice

You want help on list building..

You want help on list building

You want me to show you How To Build A List..

You want to know how to build a list

“MICHAEL, WHY DID YOU ASK PEOPLE HOW YOU COULD HELP THEM?”

Lots of you were emailing me saying how you were totally disillusioned with a lot of things on the internet.

You are not alone. From all the emails I’ve had and from speaking to people in person I guarantee that the following description will also ring true for you too..

You feel OVERWHELMED at the amount of advice out there

You are CONFUSED at differing opinions on the best way to make money online

You are FRUSTRATED at constantly being spoken AT rather than listened TO

You are ANNOYED at dishonesty and over-hype on the web

You feel DISTRESSED at not being able to achieve success because of unclear advice and guidance

This is why I decided to turn the tables around and rather than tell you what I thought you wanted to hear I put out a questionnaire and asked you what you wanted. If you are one of the 47276 people on my list you will have seen this questionnaire.

That’s how this whole challenge got started..

“WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS MICHAEL?”

Like you I am sick at a lot of the junk out there and after listening to you tell me what you wanted I decided to take you up on the challenge and actually see if I could give you EXACTLY what you wanted!

I also want to level the playing field and make the entire list-building and online wealth creation process accessible to everyone, not just a select few. I want to help you attain your own life-long income stream and put you closer to achieving your own financial freedom. Lofty aspirations? Of course! What other sort are there?!! ;-)

“MICHAEL, WHY DO YOU ONLY HAVE 37 DAYS?”

You’ve told me that you want this solution quickly and early October and November presented the only window of opportunity for me to put this list building course together otherwise you wouldn’t have been seeing it until late January 2007!

I’ve got 37 days (until 1st November when the videos are released to the public) to condense my 10 years’ online experience into a series of step-by-step list building videos that can change any newbie into a list building champion in 11 days or less..

You are now watching the story live on this page and this is where I will show you whether the challenge becomes a rip-roaring success or an unmitigated disaster.. grab your popcorn!

THE RULES YOU SET FOR ME

You have told me that;

Rule #1. You want the solution to get you a money-making list quickly
Rule #2. You want the solution to be step-by-step
Rule #3. You want the solution to be simple to follow
Rule #4. You want the solution to be fast to implement
Rule #5. You want the solution to offer honest, no-nonsense advice
Rule #6. You want the solution to be hype-free
Rule #7. You want the solution to offer massive return on investment

Thank you, and can we also get info on how to set up the squeeze page for list building? How much info is really needed to use a squeeze page effectively?

By Abi Carmen. October 2nd, 2006 at 11:53 am

Very specific question:
I purchased leads from Extreme Leads, How do I get them into an autoresponder or better yet how do I send a mass email to get them to a landing, squeeze page??

By Julie. October 2nd, 2006 at 11:54 am

Hi,
Thank you for this, I have got as far as a couple of blogs and registering my domain, but I have not a clue how to set up or design a website or build a list!!
I am looking forward to seeing the results of the challenge and implementing the information you will be supplying over the next month.
Onwards and Upwards
Kind Regards

Hello Michael,

I would like you to help me sell your marketing material on my website. Additionally, to make my first Internet Sale through following your advice strategies. My husband has been at this web hosting and technical services on the internet for approximately 6 years now and never made 1 internet sale. It has become overwhelming. Can you help ?

Thanks in advance,

Margo

By Fredrik. October 2nd, 2006 at 12:03 pm

Well Michael… what to say, you’re productive to say the least, AND you’re flexible!

Good luck to you on this great project, I’ll be watching you! ;-)

By Javier Amor. October 2nd, 2006 at 12:09 pm

This is great but are you going to introduce other types of internet marketing? For example, Affiliate Marketing or Article Marketing. I am internet newbie and chose to go the way of affiliate marketing and very confused on who to follow the lack of detail of programs out there. I need help and don’t know who to trust. It will be helpful if someone step up and share truthful detail honest making money online program.

By jez. October 2nd, 2006 at 12:13 pm

Show me how to do adwords, especially the keywords!

By michael.cheney. October 2nd, 2006 at 12:15 pm

I WILL be showing you exactly how to set up the page to start getting names onto your list. As well as all the steps before and after that.

I really should start recording some of these videos! I can’t believe this entire thing all needs to be ready and completed in less than one month!!

Abi - sorry but I have no knowledge of Extreme Leads though many of these programs have a way to import your leads into your own list using a form or direct email. (I will be creating a video on this process as well!) :-)

By paul skelton. October 2nd, 2006 at 12:19 pm

this sounds like it will be something very good. I’ll be watching for the outcome. I recieve a ton of emails every day, on advise or selling me advise. i’ve tried some of them and none of them have worked out. i’m not too good on writting interesting stuff for a good news letter or blog, so i’m interested in how to get a good mailing list, that ? doesn’t require me to be an author. so i’ll be looking to see what you come up with. ps

By Inger Nilsson. October 2nd, 2006 at 12:21 pm

This is great and fun and it feels like you really care! And it is true that no one tells you HOW to build a list, except from the rich content stuff -And when it comes down to emails, that you have to send at least 7 emails to the same person before they make a puchase or click your ads… Please give more alternatives and info than this..

By ole. October 2nd, 2006 at 12:21 pm

Dear Michael

I thank You for schozen to do it for all us, who are newbies in this game. I think its very importent to going from sqrats to finish, (even its sems stupid)taken us by Your hand

Building a list is a fine idea. However, I noticed there was a great interest in driving traffic. Given that I can build a list through the tecnology I have on my numerous websites My interest is in traffic. More specifically how to drive organic traffic to my websitesm and once they have visited I will have my list.
So, I guess the message I want to convey is that list building is the cart and traffic is the horse. Based on your video arn’t you putting the horse behind the cart?

Will taking the challange help me to generate income for my website?

By Ken. October 2nd, 2006 at 12:25 pm

Hi Michael,

There’s so much hype and information out there that it really is overwhelming to a “newbie”. A lot of the info available seems to assume that we can understand the technicalities of it all. We have to learn to crawl before we walk and walk before we run. So Michael, I hope you take this into account and I wish you the best of luck in your efforts. Thank you for attempting this.

Regards

Ken

By michael.cheney. October 2nd, 2006 at 12:27 pm

Paul, Inger,

I will definitely be giving you a LOT of ideas about how to build a list. But not just ideas - an actual process you can follow piece by piece.

I know that it be off-putting to have to write email messages and offers etc. which is why I am developing a method for doing all this which I have never seen before and doesn’t involve writing. :-)

Michael

By michael.cheney. October 2nd, 2006 at 12:30 pm

George - traffic is very important and you can’t build a list without it which is why throughout the video course I will be showing you how to get traffic in simple ways.

You do need a constant source of traffic but my own personal take on this is that as long as you keep your list members happy and continue to get a steady source of new subscribers - there is more value to be made from the exsisting subscribers than continually going after new ones.

Ronald - you will DEFINITELY generate income for your website by following the 11 Day course! If you don’t then I will have failed and I am going to have the biggest piece of egg on my face in the history of egg and faces!

Michael

You have got the essence of what everyone would like to have and that is a step-by-step Internet Marketing Business for the Compleat Idiot. Yes, it is all overwhelming and a whole new way of starting a business; what with ClickBank, AdWords, SEO, AdSense, Content, List Building, Code Info, Affiliate Mkting, etc. If you can help people get up and running, you are truly a special human being and deserving of universal recognition!

By Kevin. October 2nd, 2006 at 1:33 pm

Michael, I like all you have done up to now.

I am hoping you hit this one out of the park.

By Thomas. October 2nd, 2006 at 1:36 pm

Your analysis was spot on we definately need honest quality content, ideally in a step by step approach, that a newbie can follow and yet the experienced marketer can pick and choose at leisure. Information overload is a massive problem for the novice internet marketer, leading to paralysis by analysis. Thank you very much and good luck, I will follow with interest. This could be better than StomperNet! ;-)

Hi Michael!

Being a Newbie it is very frustrating to know where to start. There are so many people giving various and confusing information on the internet. It is more frustrating knowing who is honest and who is not.

All I ask is to consider what it was like when you first started working on the internet and the frustrations you encounted.

Michael, if you can help us Newbies, please lead the way and take us by the hand. I sincerely wish you all the very best and hope you achieve your challenge. You could become a mentor for us Newbies who require step-step guidance and support to achieving our finacial success.

Your success means our success

Kind Regards:-)

By Michele Clement. October 2nd, 2006 at 1:53 pm

Dear Michael,

Thank you very much on behalf of all the marketers in progress all over the web struggling to overcome the barrier of langages. Your active listening, hopefully, will lead to a serie of clear step-by-step videos that are going to substitute the visual tutorial approach to the verbal coaching approach.

I am delighted and more than thrilled for myself and for the millions of non maternal english speaking folks who will be given this opportunity to build their skills along with developing their english vocabulary by the means of your videos.

I wish that, eventually, you look at the possibility to do the same for other topics than list building, such as building a website, developing traffic, using copywriter’s templates for advertising and email campaign, SEO analysis and so on.

You are on your way for many years, my friend, since there’s not more than 24% of the e-commerce operated by non-english spaeking people. Much more than that are wondering when they will be able to catch the TGV Internet business. Your videos should certainly help to overcome the barrier of langages and contribute to facilitate access to the entire e-commerce for the rest of the planet beside english speaking countries.

Congratulation for your initiative and positive mind and good luck to all the non english maternal langage Internet Marketers who will profit from your visual tutorials.

I made my dictionary at contribution to write you so far. I wish I did well.

Warm regards,

Michele Clement

Hi Mike. Good to have an Englander and not have to listen to those guys with funny accents on the other side of the ditch. Everything I wanted to say has been covered above but I would like to reiterate the danger of offering more than you can cope with in backup. As an example, look at the AdsenseRealEstate guys who, no doubt, will eventually catch up with the problems created by the successful launch. Please make sure you have adequate backup to manage the success that this project is bound to have.
Good luck
Peter

By Hilary. October 2nd, 2006 at 2:11 pm

Hi Michael!

This is very cool. I bought and followed to the letter your adsense videos. One of my sites is very small, about 8 pages and as a test I did all your adsense tricks just on that site. In two months those 8 small pages have made almost $200. I can see by adding more pages, and getting more feedback from my visitors, ie a subscriber list, how that little site will be able to make some good cash. Now I just need to make more sites!

I am looking forward to these videos very much. I have been online for 7 years now and you are very refreshing in that you dump all the hype and get to the meat of the issue. I appreciate it very much.

Thank you very much for all your help, sweat, and work, which is considerable and something you don’t have to do.

Affiliate marketing seems really cut throat, list building seems so much better.

Cheers!

By tony France. October 2nd, 2006 at 2:13 pm

I have a few websites but have had little success with list building even though I offer free incentives and average 300 visitors per day.

Would love to know what I am doing wrong, I am sure your new videos will be a great resource, I would even consider building a new website just for list building purposes but not sure of the best way to do this and get results

I have just bought XsitePro. Will I be able to implement your strategies using that system?

By Robin. October 2nd, 2006 at 2:40 pm

This is going to be so useful. I’ve found it so easy to buy facilities/material from a range of people - including some you recommend - that one ends up unsure of which direction to take. Might be useful as the course unfolds to indicate how to work into the processes you suggest ideas & materials from some of your internet marketing colleagues.

I would like to see some actual information. For example: I would like to see the URL of one (just one) of your content adsense generating websites (NON-adsense sale related) and Google reports from the last 2 months (omitting what Google makes you omit) to see what that site actually made with just adsense in August and September.

This will give us an idea of how all the moving parts come together to earn some money.

Thanks.

By michael.cheney. October 2nd, 2006 at 3:47 pm

Ray - you’re right, it can be hard to get momentum and know where to start and what to do next. That is really at the heart of these list building videos.

Kevin - thank you! I too hope I hit this one out of the park but I have a long 5 weeks ahead of me. In fact it’s not even FIVE WEEKS! Arrghh!!! Better get started tonight!

Ayub - I SO WANT to help you all and that is what is driving me on this. Yes I hope I make some sales of the final product along the way of course, I know you’re not naive, but ultimately I want to change as many Newbies into Champions as possible!

Peter - you’re right, this is going to be huge but I will hopefully be ready! The real test will be in developing the step-by-step ’system’ that is sure clear and simple that there won’t be a great need for questions as you go through it. (As long as you can use a mouse!). :-)

Robin - I understand that choosing a direction can be impossible sometimes with so many options. I will make things as crystal clear and defined as possible recommending FREE tools wherever possible to achieve the ultimate aim of having your own profitable mailing list in 11 days.

John - good to meet you in Redmond, Seattle was great fun and my first ever marketing event! Yes I have paraglided. You can see a photo of me doing it on my blog (left hand side, down the page) http://www.michaelcheney.com

It was in Turkey from one of the best sites in Europe. One hell of a buzz and nearly as scary as trying to do this Challenge!! ;-)

I like your emails because 1) they don’t come too often
2) you’ve been recommended by Holly Mann
3) I just like your style.
I am just starting out and have only a blog but I plan on putting together a website soon.

Finally someone is willing to give us Newbies a step by step no-fluff down-to-earth explanation via video as to how to begin and
grow our list, something that won’t cost an arm and a leg (again). I understand about the squeeze page where people sign up for a product. My problem is how do I get these “customers” to opt in in such a way that I can keep on sending them information. For example, I have people signing up for my 9 skin care tips. I can’t keep emailing them about something else regarding proper skin care products since they signed up for the “tips”. How does one get around that problem: getting people to sign up in such a way that we have open permission to send them more than the “9 tips”. ( I hope this question makes sense to you.) I’m looking forward to seeing your product.
Thank you for helping us and for your interest in our future.

By Rika. October 2nd, 2006 at 10:00 pm

While I have some of the skills and some of the knowledge, I’m sitting at the edge, going nowhere - I can code basic HTML and CSS, some Javascript -

I’m a graphic and web designer, so I realize the enormous potential, wanting this new site to explode, and am stuck as capital is now needed.

I believe that some of my ideas for my site are spectacular, innovative and profitable and they’ve never been put into operation previously. This is the time to act on it.

I know that list building is a great part of what I need. I can’t wait to learn what I’m about to learn.

I’ve found sites that sell 10,000 names for $99.00, promising “Fresh Names” - I know that can’t be real - How can we tell the truth between hype and reality?

I know that there is a group of Internet marketers who sell each others products, and they are very, very successful -the products they sell are expensive - people purchase the products, and don’t achieve the level of success that they expected, or raise their standard of living -

I want to get to a place where I’m in that group of marketers. However, I also want there to be more programs like yours, where start-ups can afford a program to learn the techniques that will put them on a par with the business owners who have more funds.

I applaud you, Michael!

By Paul Bell. October 2nd, 2006 at 11:09 pm

G’day Michael
I would like to hear your views on how current these techniques are going to be. Information overload is such a problem - yes, even yours! As is the ever-changing dynamics of the Internet. We now even hear about ‘the death of Adsense’.
Over time, Internet users become increasingly savvy and resistant to subscribing to lists because they know it will ultimately mean adding to the daily in-box list of sales driven emails, even when they ARE interested in the information you have to offer.
However, congratulations on taking up the challenge. Good on ya!

By Hisham Shah. October 3rd, 2006 at 1:07 am

By Harry. October 3rd, 2006 at 6:41 am

Love your style, get straight to the point with no fluff. Real meat and potatoes support!!

Michael, hopefully your traffic building campaign will not heavily rely on Google Ad Words to drive traffic or from your existing other websites traffic? Newbies do not have that luxury or probably will not be prepared to blindly sink their money into Google Adwords without some previous online experience. I hope I am not tying a blind fold on you. Setting impressive results also needs to be achievable for online newbies.

Hoping you have already factored this into your ambitious project.

Best wishes Harry

Michael,

I am impressed with the information you are sharing. I am interested in reselling your program. What is the best way for me to get started?

Thanks.

By michael.cheney. October 5th, 2006 at 9:21 am

Janice - if you need help with Google AdWords I recommend you get Perry Marshall’s excellent course that will save you a fortune http://www.perrymarshall.com

Jason - thanks for your wishes. I will definitely focus on how to make sure the list you get will be responsive and not just a bunch of freebie seekers!

Anthony - thank you for support, it has been a long time coming but when I got all the feedback telling me what you all wanted I knew I HAD to act on it.

Lucy - info overload is one of the most painful barriers that stops us all in our tracks online. That’s why with this course you don’t get any options along the way - you follow the entire process step by step, there’s no room for manoevre or getting lost / distracted along the way.

Dena - thank you for your kind comments, glad you like my email-style, I’m going to show you how to emulate it in the video course. :-)

Marcelle - you asked a great question, it all comes down to how you position the offer at the outset. You don’t just want to tell them it’s tips as then they will start a revolution when you start selling to them! I will address this in the videos.

Andy - I am glad that I am one of your ‘favourite gurus that clogs up your inbox’ :-)

Leroy - my pleasure, this is going to be a great ride and I can’t wait to hear your success story!

Jeff - thanks, I WILL pull it off in time, I’ve told the world now!

Gary - good to hear from you again, thanks for your support

Rika - you will be getting the insider info in this course that tells you how to get your OWN subscribers directly not just get names from other people and that’s where the real power is - in using both these sources

Paul - that’s the cool thing about list-building, it’s almost as old as the hills and will be around for many, many years to come. Once you get your own list you will have a valuable asset for many years.

Carl - you can watch a series of videos about how I promoted my AdSense Videos here: http://www.adsense-videos.com/250k/

Harry - you are right about AdWords and spending money on advertising. I won’t be going near pay per click in the videos as I personally feel there are better ways to get subscribers directly.

Stan - I don’t about ‘King of the Internet’ but I certainly hope I make a lot of people a lot of money and get them one big step closer to their dreams.

Roland - I know it can be frustrating which is why I am not leaving any stone un-turned with these videos. If it needs to be done to get a profitable list, it will be in the video course.

Mark - thanks. Yes - I know that I need to set the price affordable for beginners so it won’t be anywhere near the $900 or so you see for the big box products. It is a far bigger undertaking for me than AdSense Videos though as the price will reflect that. (It’s going to be around three times bigger than the AdSense Videos course in terms of content).

I will be introducing a reseller program to people who buy the course because it is only by owning and using a product that you can truly understand and promote it.

Speak soon guys and keep your comments coming!

Hi Michael, I have just started getting information from you and hope to get many more e-mails etc, what ever you can send.
I am disabled and have been for 14 yrs because of a work accident. I have read hundreds of e-mails some with great programs others I would not touch even if I had the money.
I am not satisfied living on a disability pension and since I have been reading the possibilities that are out there I know I can make those millions that I hear you talking about.
The only problem I find is the initial start up cost for someone on a limited income is impossible. Costs need to be lowered so those of us in my situation can still have a way to join.
Michael I know you are busy but if you can , could you e-mail me so I can ask some other questions.
Sincerly
William T Buick

PS: I hope you are ready for us to take off with this.

Lee - I do still give away a lot of my videos for free but this course will be around 30 videos in size and has taken me a long while to research and produce. The information contained within it is also extremely valuable so there will be an investment required to get access to it.

William - I understand your situation. I always try to create the step-by-step guides that utilize free methods to get things done or failing that, the most cost effective ways to get the biggest return on investment.

Please - post more questions here!

Thank you Michael. I’ve started many times but get bombarded by different programs, different directions, etc, etc, money here and money there and get confused, distracted, overwhelmed.
Your videos could give me the focus and direction I need to finish. I really need your
program to do the most important part of any direction I will go. I need a list.

Your CD’s sound just what I am looking for to guide me through the maze of earning money on the internet. I retired eighteen months ago and am desperate to:

1 fill my days
2 fill my pockets
3 show my three children that I can use and make my computer work for me and not to keep asking them how do this and that

As you can probably recognise, I am a complete novice and by challenging you to teach me through your CD’s would mean that if you could teach me, you could teach anybody. I can open my emails, connect to the internet and not much more.

I will be joining you on your phone link tomorrow and keeping my fingers crossed that I win your CD’s.

Thank you for coming up with this idea in the first place and filling a much needed niche in this market.

Good luck

Why do I think I should win this video course?

Because… I’m just one of the thousands that’s on your list. And I want to be as professional as I can without spending years to do it. And people like you are rare and I could learn something worthy to earn my first paycheck ever in the internet. And because I would gladly pay 10% of any income I’d make with this course for life if this were the price of freedom from “work”. Basically … the same as everyone else isn’t it?

Thank you

P.S. Do you have any course in “Sane Competition”? I think it’s kind of impossible.
